Elegant, Cozy Bed & Breakfast

Welcome to Sonoma Orchid Inn

The Sonoma Orchid Bed and Breakfast Inn, renowned for our fresh, hot, family-style breakfasts, perches on a hill in the Russian River Valley just yards from the Russian River and our neighbor, Korbel Champagne Cellars. This Wine Country Bed and Breakfast sits within redwoods and rolling hills of native California oaks trees.
While wine draws visitors, there's plenty of other things to do. Visit Armstrong Redwood Reserve State Park, five minutes from the inn. This gorgeous reserve of first and second growth redwoods offers great hikes and horseback rides through redwoods. Other activities moments away are canoeing, kayaking or swimming on the Russian River. There's biking, either through the trails of the Laguna de Santa Rosa or through vineyards. Try zip-lining at Sonoma Canopy Tours, or take a safari jeep tour through Safari West, exploring the Wine Road, the Cheese Trail, Farm Trails, or spending a day at one of the many free beaches along the Pacific Coast just thirty minutes away.
Explore the best of Sonoma Wine Country wineries, from big names like Kendall-Jackson to small artisan family owned wineries tasting Pinot Noirs, Zinfandels, Cabernets, Chardonnays, and more. You are on the Wine Road. Just minutes away lie hundreds of wineries located in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Chalk Hill AVAs. Within thirty minutes of the lodging you not only have great Sonoma County wines but also the Napa Country town of Calistoga. It's difficult to count, but by my estimate there are more than 400 wineries within 30 minutes of the inn. Sonoma County alone is home to more than 400 wineries.

Walk the up and coming town of Guerneville, filled with quality dining experiences, river supplies and more. The breathtaking flavors at Nimble and Fynn's makes for a perfect end to Guerneville dining. Other towns worth exploring are the Northern Pacific coastal towns of artsy Occidental, Duncan's Mills, Bodega Bay (where The Birds was filmed), Freestone for a spa day at Osmosis Day Spa or go antique shopping through the charming town of Sebastopol. Sebastopol is also home to the Barlow and the Florence Street art walk featuring wonderul sculptures by renowned local artist, Patrick Amiot. But don't miss the town of Healdsburg minutes away and filled with restaurants and wineries and shopping.
A 1906 farmhouse, the Sonoma Orchid Inn has all the modern amenities: private bath rooms, wireless high-speed internet, state-of-the-art hot tub, separate climate control and air conditioning, fireplaces and a kitchen available to guests 24 hours a day and much more. Your home-away-from-home with fresh baked treats in the afternoons and a full gourmet breakfast prepared fresh for you each morning. We are a Sonoma County Green Certified business bringing you fresh eggs daily from our chickens and produce from our garden and fruit from the orchard when in season. We even get our power from our own solar array.
Fine dining is available moments away with three Michelin star restaurants in easy driving distance; Farmhouse Inn, Terrapin Creek and Madrona Manor. Or, explore many of our Slow Food restaurants offering Farm-to-Table options. We also have two Menu Books in the guest kitchen to help you with dining ideas.
Sonoma County's Russian River Valley is a vacation wonderland and a playground for diverse interests; and you're invited.
Come to Sonoma Orchid Inn to do all there is to do, or nothing at all.
The Sonoma Orchid Inn is a positively delightful retreat where my wife and I enjoyed gourmet breakfast daily, hot tub-bing and the beauty of nature! Our 9 yr old Terrier-Chihuahua, Brownie, loved the freedom to run pell-mell around the property and explore the woods. Our room, Hawthorne, was bright and well-appointed and we rested on the softest king-sized bed! The staff were conscientious and solution-oriented, making our stay delightful. We felt so pampered by Brian and Dana that we can only hope they have a place to vacation where they are treated as well!

We stayed here the weekend of our daughters wedding on March 4, 2017. From the minute we pulled into the driveway to the time we left we were treated so special. The rooms were wonderful, the breakfast was amazing, and Dana and Brian were the best hosts ever! I cannot wait to go back!

Stayed there over the holidays & had a great time! The rooms were great and the innkeepers really looked after us. Highly recommended.

Hello Brian and Dana! Judy and I just wanted to thank you for the great time we had and your excellent suggestions for food, wine, and drives...and the breakfasts were wonderful as well. In return we thought you might like to try this recipe for Cream Biscuits by James Beard: http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2009/12/cream-biscuits/ All the best, Mark and Judy Schaffer

Fond memories of our stay at the Inn on this rainy summer night in Montreal. Hopefully we'll be back your way before too long! I made your Chilli Cheese Egg Puff for brunch a few weeks ago and everyone loved it. :)
