The Sonoma Orchid Inn is perched on a hill in the Russian River Valley just yards from the Russian River, redwoods and our neighbor, Korbel Champagne Cellars.
While wine draws many visitors to the region, there's many other spectacular things to do. Visit Armstrong Redwood Reserve State Park which is just five minutes from the inn. This gorgeous reserve of old growth and new generation redwoods offers great hikes and horseback rides. Other activities moments away are canoeing, kayaking and swimming on the Russian River.
There's also trail biking or you can have a relaxing peddle through the surrounding vineyards. Try zip-lining at Sonoma Canopy Tours, or take a safari jeep tour through Safari West, exploring the Wine Road, the Cheese Trail, Farm Trails, or spending a day at one of the many free beaches along the Pacific Coast just thirty minutes away.
Explore the best of Sonoma Wine Country wineries. We are on the Wine Road corridor which is just minutes away from hundreds of wineries located in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Chalk Hill AVAs. Within thirty minutes of the Inn, we not only have great Sonoma County wines but also the Napa Country town of Calistoga. It's difficult to count, but by our estimate there are more than 400 wineries within 30 minutes of the inn. Sonoma County alone is home to more than 400 wineries.

Walk the town of Guerneville, filled with quality dining experiences, river supplies local art galleries and more. Other towns worth exploring are the Northern Pacific coastal towns of artsy Occidental, Duncan's Mills, Bodega Bay (where The Birds was filmed), Freestone for a spa day at Osmosis Day Spa or go antique shopping through the charming town of Sebastopol. But don't miss the town of Healdsburg just 20 minutes away; filled with restaurants, wineries and shopping.
A 1906 farmhouse, the Sonoma Orchid Inn has all the modern amenities: private bath rooms, wireless high-speed internet, state-of-the-art hot tub, separate climate control and air conditioning, fireplaces and a kitchen available to guests 24 hours a day and much more. We are a Sonoma County Green Certified business bringing you fresh eggs daily from our chickens and produce from our garden and fruit from the orchard when in season. We even get our power from our own solar array.
Fine dining is available moments away with three Michelin star restaurants in easy driving distance; Farmhouse Inn, Terrapin Creek and Madrona Manor.
